STAKEHOLDERS, PARTNERS POUR ENCOMIUM ON AYENI –LED EXCO

The hope of an improved decent shelter and seamless affordable housing for teaming Officers of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has come into reality as the Agency’s Cooperative Society, has unveiled a multi-million naira Housing Estate for the benefit of all in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the Press Officer of the Agency, Mr. Vincent Adekoye, the development which was greeted with many commendations from subscribers, Management of the Agency, Development Partners, and other members of the public, came on the heel of much agitation and concern among Civil Servants in Abuja over the high cost of accommodation within the Nation’s Capital City.

Located inside the highbrow area of Lugbe, the Housing Estate called the Royalty Court Estate is surrounded by already-developed Estates and settlements with straight access roads from the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Market, the Estate is believed to be the toast of would-be- house owners as it is situated in a flood free area.



Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony which was witnessed by large numbers of subscribers and other invited guests, the President of the NAPTIP Cooperative Society, Mr. Ayeni Olalekan Yusuf, said the project was a deliberate plan to alleviate the housing plights of Officers of the Agency.

“This project is a result of our concern, as the Executive of the NAPTIP Cooperative, that after each day’s work in the prevention of human trafficking and other vices, our officers would be able to retire to decent and affordable houses that will give them rest of mind.

“Good shelter for Officers of the Agency will among other things, reduce their vulnerability, enhance their status, and increase their productivity capability as they will worry less over shelter”, Mr. Ayeni said.



While thanking the Management of the Agency under the watch of the Director General, Prof. Fatima Waziri – Azi, for proving a conducive environment for the Society to operate, the NAPTIP Cooperative President thanked all partners and assured that the project will not be abandoned.

In her remark, the Head of Business, Asset Management of Norrenberger Financial Group who also represented the Chairman of Transkredit Finance, Mrs. Abigail Utomi, expressed confidence in the leadership of the NAPTIP Cooperative and assured that the company will continue to partner all in a bid to provide decent houses for the people of the Country.

Managing Director of Transkredit Finance Company Limited, Mr Kayode Stephen who traced the origin of the entire process which culminated in the birth of the Estate, called on other stakeholders to key into the project. He disclosed that supporting businesses and governmental projects which are people-centered, is part of the focus of the company. He stressed that the Company is programmed to intervene where necessary and make life easy for the people.  

There was also a goodwill message from the Managing Director, of Norrenberger Pension Limited, Mr Hamisu Idris.

On his part, the Chairman of the Development Partner, Property Finders Limited, Mr. Anthony Nnabuife, commended the NAPTIP Cooperative Exco for the reality of the project and assured all of the support of his company toward the successful completion of the estate.



Speaking also, a Member of the Federal House of Representatives representing the Orumba North/South Federal Constituency, Hon. Chinwe Nnabuife said the 10th Assembly will take steps to address the housing deficit and challenges being faced by Nigerians. She commended the initiative of the project and assured that she will continue to support the project.

In a keynote address, the Director General of NAPTIP, Prof Fatima Waziri- Azi, who was represented by the Director, Legal, and Prosecution Department, Mr. Hassan Tahir, commended the Ayeni – led exco for the project adding that it was a testimony of transparency and accountability.

The Director General promised that her Administration shall continue to support the Cooperative in its desire to provide affordable housing for its members.

Highpoint of the ceremony was the groundbreaking and foundation laying which was performed by the Director General in the company of all the dignitaries present.

There was also an instant presentation of a letter of Offer to all the subscribers present.



A cross-section of stakeholders and subscribers present commended the NAPTIP Cooperative Exco for their zeal, determination, and selfless service which led to the realization of the housing dream. They commended especially the President, Mr. Olalekan Ayeni Yusuf for being faithful in little things and urged him to continue to champion the desires of the masses.
